Trust & Boundaries
The Trust & Boundaries test examines how you navigate the delicate balance between connection and independence in your relationships. Drawing from attachment theory and relational psychology research, this assessment explores your comfort levels with emotional intimacy, your ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries, and your patterns of trust development. Through 12 carefully designed statements, you'll reflect on how you experience closeness, autonomy, vulnerability, and self-protection across different relationship contexts. Your results will reveal whether you tend toward enmeshment (over-closeness with weak boundaries), balanced interdependence (healthy trust with clear boundaries), or distancing patterns (strong boundaries that may limit intimacy). Understanding these patterns helps you build more secure, fulfilling relationships while maintaining your sense of self.
Info About This Test
Based on attachment theory (Bowlby, Ainsworth), the Experiences in Close Relationships Scale (Brennan, Clark & Shaver, 1998), and interpersonal boundaries research (Petronio's Communication Privacy Management Theory). Measures two primary dimensions: intimacy comfort (openness to emotional closeness and vulnerability) and autonomy needs (desire for independence and personal space). Profile classification uses threshold-based scoring where combinations of high/medium/low scores on both dimensions determine relationship patterns. Questions 7 and 10 are reverse-scored to control for response bias.
This assessment provides insights into your relationship patterns and is not a diagnostic tool. The results are based on self-reported responses and should not replace professional psychological evaluation. For concerns about relationships or attachment patterns, please consult a licensed therapist or counselor.
